Ficus is the botanical name of a genus in the fig family (Moraceae) and consists of more than 700 species. Well-known names include fig, rubber tree and weeping fig. The ficus is very suitable for bonsai and can be kept indoor as it is a tropical plant. The plants are spread all over the world, however, it is native to portions of tropical Asia. It also belongs to the genus Ficus, example the familiar fig tree (Ficus carica) along the Mediterranean Sea in August and September produces delicious fruit in the colors dark purple red and yellow-green.
